Sunny and lively, the Alpe d'Huez resort, nicknamed "l'île au Soleil", has a south orientation and faces the magnificent panorama of the Ecrins.
The Alpe d'Huez ski area offers an exceptional diversity and quality of skiing. Culminating at an altitude of 3300 meters at the top of the Pic Blanc, the high altitude guarantees snow cover on the 3,000 hectares of the ski area. For your pleasure, the ski area is divided into 245 km of slopes for all levels, on 2210 meters of vertical drop, and 800 skiable hectares so that you can discover the whole area and enjoy the breathtaking panorama offered by the massif.
The location of the ski area, characterized by a gentle vertical drop at the bottom of the slopes, the ski area has laid out green and blue slopes to encourage beginners to learn how to slide gently with ski lessons adapted to your level. For the lovers of strong feelings, the black slopes, accessible from the Pic Blanc cable car or with the new funitel Les Marmottes III, will allow you to apply more technical approaches for a maximum of sensations.

The characteristics of the resort
The Alpe d'Huez resort has the longest black slope in the world. This track, which is almost 16 km long, will start from the Sarenne glacier, La Fare and Château Noir. For hours of sliding and pleasure, the 2210 meters of vertical drop of the ski area will allow you to ski for 1h30 without having to take the ski lifts, thanks to a network of very well linked slopes. The Alpe d'Huez ski area is equipped with facilities offering all vacationers numerous indoor and outdoor, sports and cultural activities for a diversified stay.
