What are the tests for?
Created by esf, the tests allow everyone to progress step by step in their snow sports.
On the basis of specific technical criteria, our esf instructors validate with you or your child the skills acquired and the improvements to be made in the practice of Nordic skiing.
Tests for children
1st Star
Class 1 - 1st degree preparation, motricity positioning
In the skating course:
- I am able to take skating steps without the ski poles on slippery ground.
In the classical course:
- I am capable of taking a slippery step on a steep slope.
In the skating and classical courses:
- I carry out a descent of the 1st degree type.
- I do a series of snowplow turns.
2nd Star
In the skating course:
- I take skating steps with sticks on slippery ground.
- I move in slippery steps and in steps of one on various terrains.
In the skating and classical course:
- I make a direct crossing track and I continue with upstream revolving steps.
- I am able to negotiate hollows and bumps on the way down.
3rd Star
In the skating course:
- I move in 2-stroke skating steps on flat ground.
- I am able to do a series of ½ skater's steps and skater's steps on flat ground..
In the classical course:
- I move in alternative steps on flat ground..
- I am able to perform combinations of one and alternative steps.
In the skating and classic course:
- I am capable of making six to seven elementary turns.
Bronze Star
Class 3 and Expert - Bronze Star preparation, mastering the basics, effectiveness
In the skating course:
- I make 1-stroke skater's steps.
In the classical course:
- I make alternative upward steps.
In the skating and classical skating courses:
- I am able to make turning steps downstream.
- I negotiate parallel ski turns.
Gold Star
Expert Class - Gold Star Preparation, mastering the basics, effectiveness
In the skating course:
- I do a Nordic Skiercross type course allowing me to perform all the gestures of the technical repertoire of skating..
In the classical course:
- I complete a Nordic skiercross type course allowing me to perform all the gestures in the technical repertoire of classical skating.
