Located at 1860 m of altitude, the Col de Montgenèvre is the most accessible pass in the Alps. As evidence of this, it is located 4 hours and 30 minutes from Paris, thanks to the TGV train resort of Oulx, 15 km away. Nestled between two slopes, one facing due south on the Adret, the other, at the ubac, Les Gondrans, the village of Montgenèvre has kept its mountain charm despite the vicissitudes of history. The commune is composed of two villages, Montgenèvre located on the pass and the village of Les Alberts, nestled at its feet at the entrance to the Vallée de la Clarée.
The summit of the pass is the watershed. On the slopes of the Gondrans, in the middle of mountain meadows, flow the Sources de la Durance, enhanced by a discovery route. On the other, the Sources de la Doire, a torrent located in the middle of the forest, whose waters flow into the Po. Arriving in the village, you will be immediately seduced by the snow front that extends at the foot of the village deviated from its circulation.
